IMPLEMENTATION
The Oaktree management training program is based on the premise that all managers have the potential to learn and grow and if they are provided with ongoing development they will grow and function at higher levels of performance. This allows the organization and its people to achieve more of its potential in every area.
The course is provided in-house or at a nearby hotel facility on a monthly basis. Classes are held over a period of 10 weeks (the equivalent of a college quarter) for approximately 4 hours. This provides for 40 hours of learning, equivalent to a full semester at a typical college.
WHO BENEFITS MOST FROM THIS PROGRAM?
Typically managers who:
•Have not had a college education
•Have majored in technical courses and not had any management training.
•New managers recently promoted from functional tasks.
•Supervisors who have promotion potential
HOW IS THE PROGRAM DESIGNED?
The Oaktree program is designed to fulfill the specific needs of each client. Before any training takes place, a very careful needs analysis is conducted where top management is involved in defining the learning needs of subordinate managers. As a result of the analysis, a carefully customized training program is developed for the client and packaged specifically to meet the needs explored and defined.
TEACHING STYLE
Learning takes place in an adult environment with an understanding that adults do not learn like children, but need to be taught by experienced facilitators who understand the methods and techniques of teaching adults.
Workshops consist of:
• Background and supporting lectures
• Discussions that take into account previous experience and knowledge.
• Experience sharing
• Supporting media, i.e. videos and other media
• Case studies and discussions
• A regular Management textbook with appropriate reading assignments.
• Quizzes to ensure learning
At the conclusion of the 10-week series of classes, each participant will be provided with a framed certificate of completion, and when appropriate, a graduation luncheon or dinner.
